BBC Radio Sheffield are reporting that the Millers defender Phil Gilchrist could be in contention for a starting place against Barnsley this coming Saturday.

Gilchrist discolated his shoulder a fortnight ago and initial fears were that he would need surgery andcould be out for a number of months, however he will not need surgery and should be back in training this week.

The news will come as a boost to boss Mick Harford who will have 2 first choice defenders missing this weekend due to international call-ups. Colin Murdock is away with Northern Ireland and Gregor Robertson away with Scotland U21's, leaving Harford with major problems in defence.

Harford today told the clubs official website - themillers.co.uk "This will leave us down to the bare bones and it's not really fair for clubs like ourselves who have such small squads. Bigger clubs can stand the loss of two players but we can't really do that so it's time the matter was looked at a little more sympathetically with the squad size being taken into consideration."

Minto - also back?
"It will cost us money and I will have to hopefully try and bring somebody in on loan this week, beit a center forward or a center half, but we are thin on the ground."

"If we get Mint's and Gilly back it will be a major plus for us. They gunna train this morning and if they come through alright we might have a look at them against Barnsley in the reserves tomorrow (Tues). We'll give them part of the game and see how they come through that. But I dont like putting players in who havent played football for a while. But GIllys only been out for a couple of weeks."
