Speaking to the Star after the game with Darlington on Boxing Day was called off, Moore spoke of his frustrations.
"I looked at the list before last Saturday (Dagenham) and I was relishing it. I'm sure the players were as well," said the Millers manager.
"It was a pity the Dagenham game was off because I saw this as a real chance to put some daylight, in the manner of five points, between us and them.
"The Chesterfield game will be tough but that offers us the same sort of opportunity.
"Rochdale are running away a bit at the top with their handy lead and I see it as giving us a chance to claw something back while Bournemouth is a six-pointer.
"Certainly after that little lot we might have a better idea of our promotion credentials. I just hope we get the games on and the higher temperatures they have now forecast will be really welcome."
