The 29-year-old right-back, on loan from Blackpool, faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury in the 5-0 win over Port Vale and his recovery time is yet to be diagnosed.
His original deal is set to expire on Saturday and Moore, who is interested in signing Coid permanently, must decide whether it is viable to re-sign an injured player.
"He could be anything for 10 days to three weeks," Moore told Press Association Sport. "I want him to stay, I would be very interested in taking him for next season but we just have to wait and see.
"We'd take him to until the end of the season on loan but we have to decide whether it is worth paying his wages at this present time when we know he is not going to be fit. I'll have a chat with the chairman and see what he thinks about it.
"Coidy wants to stay, I think he'd be keen to stay here on a permanent basis and I'd be keen to have him here."
