He said: "That is as bad as we have been at home for a long, long time. We didn't play. In fact, I don't think we had a player out there.
"There are ways to lose and that was not one of them.
"Take nothing away from Palace, overall they probably deserved it, but I think any team would have beaten us today.
"The sad thing is that it was on the TV. But it is not a true reflection of how the lads have done this season.
"These lads have given there all and if someone had said at the start of the season that we would have 34 points from 24 games, there is not one person at this club who would have turned that down.
"It is not time to go and cut your throat. It is not the end of the world."
"It might just wake up one or two of the lads who have been living in cloud cuckoo land, and even the manager, because people start to think 'hang on, we've got quite a good chance.
"Sometimes it makes you realise you are not as good as you think."
