Scott's side have been shipping goals left, right and centre so far this season on their travels but despite having to make more changes ahead of the weekend, the boss thinks the potential is there to pick up some valuable points over the festive period as they face three tricky away games.
"We have done well away from home, scored a lot of goals and looked very dangerous going forwards,” said Scott to the Star.
“Maybe that suits the way we are set up to play. I’m excited by what we can do going forwards but we have got to shut up shop at the back.
“It is clear if we shore up defensively, then we have got a hell of a chance of achieving something this season. It has to come from within the players we have got here and if it doesn’t, we will make more changes.”
That promise of changes seems to be taken out of Scott's hands anyway with continuing injury problems - Branston is a major doubt for the weekend with a foot injury which left him on crutches after the loss at Shrewsbury, whilst Marshall's recall to right back lasted 45 minutes as he was sent off. He serves his one match suspension for the trip to Edgar Street.
Michael Raynes, Troy Brown and Jason Taylor are the contenders to partner Johnny Mullins at the back, whilst the two full back spots are likely to change again with Dale Tonge and Jon Harley coming back into the side.
The Millers only home clash left this calendar year sees them take on Wimbledon on December 17th, before visits to Macclesfield on Boxing Day and high-flyers Cheltenham on Friday 30th (7.45pm).
