The prospect of moving 'home' grabs the excitement of the Millers stopper as well as everyone at the club and it's supporters.
With just 18 months to the potential first game back in the town, Warrington spoke about the plans released during last week.
"The plans are fantastic. It means everything," he said to todays Tiser. "I go past the site every day. I'll see it getting built and I don't want to be the one that misses out and I still want to be no.1, playing in that first game at the new ground.
"Having to spend these years away at Don Valley, the talk has always been about going to a new stadium. It was always there in the distance but now, having seen the plans, you want to be part of it and personally I would love it. No disrespect, but you don't want to be playing the last years of your career at Don Valley. When there's something there on the horizon, that's what you want to aim for."
Andy added: "My little one goes to school in Rotherham and you always get parents coming up to you asking what it's like to play at Don Valley. I will have had four years of it (by the time we leave) and I want to come back here. There are still quite a few people in that dressing room who went through the rough times when I first joined and if you ask any of them, they want to be part of the transformation to come back."
Warrington, who'd be 36 when the propsed move takes place, reckons he can be around up to and beyond the ground move, if given the chance. "Is it possible? I think so. Fitness wise and form wise I feel fine," he said.
"You look at the likes of David James, Brad Friedel and Neil Sullivan, who's at Doncaster and is now 41.
"We're talking about a higher standard there but I still maintain that if you keep yourself fit and have the desire, you can carry on playing. Form, fitness and desire are the big things and that's what I hope I have still got."
