“It is going according to plan,” said Stewart to the Star. “I travel to work and go past the site every day and I can see the progress that is being made."
The Millers new gound is set to cost in the region of 17 million pounds, and fans have been taking snaps this week of the first elements of steel going up as the West stand starts to take early shape.
“I go to the site once a week and everything is on course for July 11 next year. We have overcome the hurdles that were there and things are going well," added the Chairman.
Stewart has also praised contractors GMI Construction, as he continued: “GMI know the site well and are doing a good job. It is a big job and they seem to be handling it very well. There is a long way to go but we are all very excited.”
Stewart will now focus his attention on catering, the brewery, seating and turnstiles for the 12,000 seater arena.
