“There is no question we will bring the best out of Nicky. We have a track record as a management team of getting the best out of players.
“I am sure he feels he has got a point to prove. But I saw him at Preston a few weeks ago and he was different class. I have no doubt he is going to show everyone what a talent he is. If Nicky produces his best, he will be in the team. If he doesn’t, he will be sat on the bench.”
Evans had to fend off intrest from League One clubs to secure the signing; “Nicky was due to meet a League One club on Monday but I phoned him up and persuaded him to come and have a look around the new stadium and the training ground facilities, We had to work hard to get him in."
