Goalkeepers:
The goalkeeping position at Shrewsbury has been somewhat of a problem all season, due to regular Chris Neal being been out since August with a groin injury, Town opted to bring Bristol City keeper Steve Philips in on loan. Philips went on to make 11 appearances for Shrewsbury before returning to Bristol with Neal regaining his place in the F.A. Cup fixture with Staines Town. Neal was struck down again with injury after just three games this time with a broken finger. Andreas Arestidou has been between the sticks for the last two games for town. To again cover the goalkeeping position Shrewsbury have loaned Dave Button from Tottenham Hotspur on-loan until January 2010.
Chris Neal.

Chris began his career at Preston North End, the nearest he got to playing at Deepdale was one match on the bench. Chis went on loan to Conference club Tamworth in 2005 and he played five league games and one cup game while there. In 2006 he had a month's loan at Shrewsbury providing cover for then keeper Chris MacKenzie. In 2009 Neal made a permanent move from Preston, rejoining Town for a nominal fee. Chris is unlikely to have recovered from injury to play against the Millers.
Andres Arestidou.
Date of Birth: 06/12/1989.
Andreas is a young goalkeeper from Blackburn, who was highly rated before moving to Shrewsbury. Arestidou has been in the England under 16 and u17 teams and also spent time playing for Lancaster. Andreas has signed his first professional contract with Shrewsbury Town. Arestidou two appearances for the Shrews has been in the last two games.
David Button.

Height: 6' 3"
Dave is a Spurs academy graduate, who has experienced first-team football during temporary stays at Grays Athletic, Bournemouth, Dagenham & Redbridge and Crewe Alexandra, has been signed by the Shrews to act as cover for Chris Neal. Button, 20, has joined Town on-loan until January 2010. In October of this season, Button was in goal for Crewe when the Millers won 3-2 at Gresty Road.
Defenders:
Dean Holden.
Date of Birth: 15/09/1979
Height: 6' 1"
Right back, yet can if needed play all along the back line. Dean started his career at Bolton before moving onto Oldham. He made over 100 first-team appearances for Oldham before joining Peterborough United in 2005. Holden was transferred to Falkirk in January 2007. While at Falkirk Dean suffered a broken leg, but recovered to play 22 more games for Falkirk. Dean was released by Falkirk at the end of last season. Holden moved to Shrewsbury in June 2009. signing a two-year contract.
Graham Coughlan.

Well known to Millers fans for his time spent at Rotherham in the 2007/08 season, making almost 50 starts for the Millers. Coughlan came to Rotherham, after a two year stay at Sheffield Wednesday playing over 51 games for the Owls before moving to the Millers. Coughlan started his career at Blackburn, but in four years didn't manage an appearance. He had loan spells at Swindon and Livingstone. In 1999/2000 he signed permanently for Livingstone, he made 50 appearances for Livingstone, and then moved back across the border to sign for Plymouth Argyle, who he went onto play over 170 games for during his four years at the club, before moving to Sheff Wednesday.
Michael Jackson.

Starting out as a trainee at Crewe, he moved to Bury and made over 150 appearances for them between 1993 and 1997. Jackson then joined Preston in 1997 and became a regular at Deepdale for number of seasons, before moving to Tranmere, then Blackpool in 2006, he helped Blackpool win promotion to the Championship, after 30 games in the Championship Jackson picked up a knee injury that kept him sidelined for the rest of the season. Jackson joined the shrews in June 2008. Last season his games were limited due to injury. This season he has been a regular, making a strong partnership in the middle of defence with Coughlan.
Shane Cansdell-Sherriff.

Australian Shane started his football career with Leeds Utd. Three years at Leeds saw no first team starts for Shane, other than a few Games on loan at Rochdale in 2002. Released by Leeds 2003, Shane moved to Danish Superliga side AGF Aarhus. He spent three years in Denmark; then signed for Tranmere Rovers at the start of the 2006/07 season and was made club captain, making over 40 appearances in his first season. Shane moved to Shrewsbury in June 2008 on a two-year deal, and has been a regular this season, after 28 starts last season.
Midfield:
Paul Murray.

In 1994 Paul's hometown club Carslie gave him his start as a professional footballer, he made a few starts over two seasons for Carlisle, before going on loan to Q.P.R. The move became permanent in 1996 when Q.P.R PAID £300,000 for his services. He enjoyed a successful time at Loftus Road, and played 140 league games. In 2001 he joined Premiership side Southampton, but only managed the odd game for the Saints. Three years at Oldham Athletic followed after signing in 2001. He then joined Portuguese club Beira-Mar. Paul then re-signed for Carlisle United in the close-season after their promotion to League One. Paul was then released by Carlisle in May 2007, moving just over the border to new Scottish Premiership side Gretna, on a one year contract. After becoming a free agent Paul turned down a number of clubs, before joining Shrewsbury Town in May 2008.
Jamie Devitt.

On loan from Hull City, Jamie is a Republic of Ireland youth international, and was voted Hull's Young Player of the Year and Supporters' Club Player of the Year in 2007-08. Jamie has just had his loan extended to January. Recently he has had a slight knee problem, so may start on the bench against the Millers.
Steven Leslie.

Steven is a product of the youth set up and made his debut for the club on April 18, 2006 a promising young player and has made steady progress with Shrewsbury and has signed a 1 year extension to his contract. Steven has been on the bench 5 times this season.
Kevin McIntyre.

Height: 6' 0"
Kevin had four successful years at Macclesfield. A fans favourite, in his final year at Macclesfield he ended up top scorer with 10 goals, 9 of them from the penalty spot! Kevin won the Player of the Year award for 2006/07 at Moss Rd. He moved to Shrewsbury in January 2008. A left sided player he can play either left-back, or on the left hand side of midfield. Kevin has made a total of 17 starts for the Shrews this season.
Craig Disley.

Mansfield's youth set up gave Worksop lad Disley his chance as a professional footballer. Craig scored on his debut in 1999, and made four starts in his first season. In 2001 he scored 7 goals from 36 appearances helping Mansfield to promotion. In 2004 after moving to Bristol City he was again part of a promotion winning team. He signed for Shrewsbury before this season, and still only 28 is considered to be a good addition, being a midfielder who throughout his career has always chipped in with a fair number of goals.
Terry Dunfield.

Height: 5' 7"
Canadian Terry started out at Man. City, he made only one Premiership appearance in 2001. He left City to join Bury initially on loan, which was made permanent in 2002. In three seasons at Gigg Lane he made 74 appearances, before moving on to Macclesfield in 2007, and becoming Player of the season at Macc in the 2007/08 season. Terry joined Shrewsbury in 2009, and turned out 16 times last season. This term he has managed just 2 starts in the League.
Strikers:
Dave Hibbert.
Date of Birth: 28/01/1986
Height: 6' 2"
In 2006/07 Hibbert came on loan to the Millers from Preston, making 21 appearances and scoring 2 goals. Later he had another loan period with Bradford City, where he suffered an ankle injury which kept him out for the rest of the season. After returning to Deepdale, Hibbert joined Shrewsbury for a nominal fee in June 2007. This season he has found his eye for goal return, with 8 goals from his 16 starts.

Wade Fairhurst.

Height: 5' 10"
Fairhurst has just had is loan period from Doncaster Rovers extended to January. Waide started his career as a youth player at Sheffield United, before arriving at Doncaster Rovers whilst Dave Penney was Rovers manager. A pacy striker, who can also be used as an attacking midfielder, he signed a new two-year deal with Doncaster Rovers in July 2009. He has made 5 appearances for Shrewsbury scoring 2 goals.
Jake Robinson.

Height: 5' 9"
Starting his career at Brighton he became Brighton's youngest ever scorer (aged 16) three weeks in a cup match against Forest Green Rovers. He later joined Aldershot Town on loan for a loan spell until the end of the 2009 season, 19 appearances in total, scoring four goals. He moved to Shrewsbury after the expiration of his contract at the end of June 2009 at Brighton. 10 starts this season has seen him score 3 goals.
Kelvin Langmead.

Starting out at Preston Kelvin had loan periods at Tamworth, Carlisle and Kidderminster. He was then taken on loan by Shrewsbury and scored in his third loan match before signing permanently. He made more than 80 appearances in League Two as a forward, but in September 2006, after observing his aerial strength, defending corners, Gary Peters tried him at centre-back in a reserve fixture. He was then used in this position for the first team. He played out the rest of the season at centre-back, as Shrewsbury reached the League Two play-off final. In the summer he signed a new two year contract with the Shrews. Kelvin has appeared in 20 games and scored 2 goals this season.
Nathan Elder.

Height: 6' 3
He was signed by Brighton from Billericay and was in January 2007 after the south coast club paid a small transfer fee, rumoured to be £10,000, after being impressed with his talent. After 22 games, mainly as sub, Elder joined Brentford in January 2008 for £35,000. Nathan went on to make 64 appearances, scoring 11 goals. When playing for Brentford, Elder's left eye socket and cheekbone were broken in an aerial collision with Rotherham's Pablo Mills. Elder signed for Shrewsbury Town in August 2009 on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee. This season he has scored 2 goals.
