Talking in todays Rotherham Advertiser, Andy Scott is confident that his team can travel to Oxford and bring home the 3 points to put them back into the play-off shake-up.
A loss however will just about put paid to any chances of the Millers reaching the end of season play offs as they will be 8 points adrift with just 9 games left.
“You talk about must-win games, this is probably the ultimate one. If we beat Oxford then we're right on their coat-tails and if we draw or lose then we are chasing again. We're confident we can beat them. We were by far the better side against Torquay and they have just gone second in the league. It's fine margins between being up there or being where we are and thinking what could have been."
“We've had single-goal deficits too many times and drawn too many games but it's still not over. We're probably playing better now than we have done all season and we can only go in with confidence. We're not even thinking about losing.”
Scott also said that the pressure is also on Oxford; “It is going to be nervy for Oxford because Gillingham, Crewe and ourselves are all chasing them and if they lose they are under big pressure. They have to play three or four of the top sides but they had a good result against Swindon last time at home with ten men so we know they are a good side and they're going to be tough."
“But aren't these the games you to look forward to? There will be a big crowd, a good atmosphere and lots to play for. They are the matches you want. I can't wait to get there because I know how well we're playing and if we beat them we are back in it again. I don't want to be playing in games which mean nothing. These are the matches you want to be involved in week-in and week-out, particularly towards the end of the season when it counts. That's what you're in it for.” he added.
