The Cheshire club have made no secret of their desire to sign the diminutive winger. Speaking last week to the Liverpool Post, Chester chairman Stephen Vaughan said: "we understand that there is a clause in the player's contract which allows him to speak to other clubs, so we will be contacting Rotherham to request permission to speak to the player.
"Bobby (Williamson) has produced a list of players that he would like to bring to the club, and Ritchie Partridge is one of those players."
Partridge is half-way through the two-year contract that he signed last summer. Chester tried to sign 26 year old last summer, but he turned them down to sign at Millmoor. Today's reports suggest that City have offered a contract to Partridge and have been told to expect his decision by the end of the week.
Partridge played 33 times for the Millers last season, scoring 4 goals.
