Revell netted his third Millers goal in the 2-1 loss to Sheffield United and had been without a goal since his brace on his full debut at Swindon Town a month ago.
But Scott has been happy with the £75,000 man's work rate and contribution to the cause, making him captain in Ryan Cresswell's absence.
"I reassured him that his work rate, effort and what he was doing for the side was fantastic and that goals would come. I'm delighted for him because he deserved that for the effort he's put in since he's been here.
"He's wearing the captains armband as he's leading by example and other players are following that", added the gaffer, who's team showed signs of a return to some form with their display.
Meanwhile Scott is continuing his search for one if not two loanees with Cresswell and now Mark Bradley on the treatment table ahead of Saturdays game with Burton Albion.
