Tom Pope got off the mark with a brace at West Brom in the Carling Cup this week, and Millers fans will be hoping he can reproduce the quality of those strikes in the league. Pope said:
"The goals have been a long time coming. My goals ratio has been alright wherever I've been. I scored a few here in pre-season until the league kicked in and I couldn't hit a barn door.
"It was nice to get off the mark. The volley was pretty special but the only reason I hit it first time was because it was extra time and I was so shattered. I didn't want to be messing about with it.
"West Brom had quality all over the pitch so it was a confidence boost to score a couple of goals against them.
"It's important to remember these things happen maybe once a season. Big matches might be a day out for the fans but my priority and our priority is the league.
"We've got to concentrate on Macc tomorrow."
