Boss Steve Evans is looking to bolster his defence for next season by bringing in Peterborough United's 23 year old right back Mark Little.
However the Millers bid was rejected by the London Road club earlier this afternoon, however Evans told themillers.co.uk that he would be looking to continue in his efforts to sign the Worcester born defender.
"Peterborough United turned down our offer after Barry Fry spoke to the manager Darren Ferguson," Evans said.
"I will now speak with the chairman Tony Stewart and should he wish to increase the offer we have made, then we will do so in a private and confidential manner with Peterborough United." he added.
