Practise makes perfect for Brogan

Speaking to the Advertiser about scoring from that free-kick last weekend, Brogan said it was great to score like that in front of his family.

"It was great to score in front of a full Millmoor, We were all aware of the talk about a new ground and it was a bit more of a special occasion because there were a few more people in. I had more friends at the match than usual, hence my celebrations in front of the main stand, which is where they were all sitting." He said.

"It was great to put the ball in the net like that and it was nice to see a full stadium. A lot of times, the Railway End is pretty empty but it helps having all four sides pretty much full. It makes for a better game and a better atmosphere."

"I have been on set-pieces this season and got quite a few assists but my shooting has not been up to scratch. I practice all the time so it's nice to get one in. I've scored a couple of penalties and one from open play but that's my first from a free-kick."

"In all set-pieces, there's different signals to tell the players what I'm going to do. This free-kick was a few yards in from the touchline and I fancied a shot and it was great that it paid off."

"The gaffer was happy with our performance and workrate, He wanted to win, but he told us the next best thing was not to lose. We need to be taking three points at home but the gaffer has no problems with us as long as we keep performing. You can't ask for anymore." Brogan added.

Looking forward to the next few games against teams up there with us, Stephen said; "We have a run of tough games coming up and to start with a loss would have been disastrous. Wycombe are a good side who are up there with us so I suppose it was a good point in the end. We're looking to kick on now and get three points at Chester."
