Talking to Radio Sheffield Millers manager Mark Robins said; "It's not my or the clubs policy to keep people that don't want to be here, but we will now obviously seek the best price for Rueben.
"I'm not going to make the valuation public but we have an idea and we'll certainly stick to what we feel for a player whos scored 19 goals and what it will cost to eventually replace him if we need to.
Robins was asked if the bid from MK Dons had made Rueben want to move; "I think all the speculation in the press thast been reported but there's nothing tangiable there and I think you've got to wait and see and if somebody comes in and matches a valuation of a particular player whatever that may be at any club then you've seen with Cristiano Ronaldo, people move on. Their valuation of that player was £80 million, we'll not get anywhere near that for Rueben but we're looking for certainly market value.
"There has been an offer which we turned down last week from Milton Keynes and thats where we are at the moment. Subsequent to that being made public we had a transfer request through the post so obviously that changes things."
Robbo was asked if the situation meant changes to his team for next season; "Not necessary have to alter the plans as yet, at the moment he's still our player and he's got a year on his contract and as I've explained to him until somebody comes in who mathces our valuation he remains our player and he needs to knuckle down and work hard as the rest of the squad do. We start pre-season on Thursday and my thoughts entirely at the moment are on that." he said.
"At this moment we're ready to start pre-season and we have decent bunch of players there. We've got a very good squad there, stronger than the last squad that I had and we're very much looking forward to starting pre-season and getting ready for what is going to be an important season and hopefully and enjoyable one for everyone." Robbo added.
