In the Advertiser this week midfielder Gary Roberts explained the bizarre goal celebration that has left supporters puzzled as to its meaning, even boss Ronnie Moore finds it strange saying:
"He looked like a nutcase. He's got to get a better celebration than that."
Garry put the record straight as to the meaning behind the celebration saying: "There was a kid around our way who used to play Sunday League. He was a goalkeeper and he'd run out and close players down by making a shape as a swan to put people off. It was hilarious."
"When I was at Crewe, I and Tom Pope used to do it and have a laugh about it and I've continued it here."
After being given the chance to get his career back on track by Moore Gary feels he has even more to offer the Millers in repayment saying:
"My career is slowly getting back on track, If I keep doing as well as I'm doing and staying on the straight and narrow then I'm sure things on the pitch will continue looking after things off the pitch. I still don't think I'm back to what I was before. There's still a lot more to come. I need to keep going and get my full confidence and once that comes then you'll see more from me."
"Ronnie Moore has been great to me. He's given me a chance. I'm grateful for that and hopefully I can repay him by putting in the performances on the pitch."Welcome to MillersMad
