The tough tacking 22 year old left League One Yeovil by mutual consent over the summer and has been handed a chance to impress boss Ronnie Moore.
Roberts played in the centre of midfield and set up striker Ryan Taylor for the second goal after Paul Warne had given the Millers second string the lead.
Roberts is with the club for the next week and could be handed the chance to get his career back on track.
