The 22 year-old was set to play in a behind closed doors game with York on Wednesday but after training with the club, turned down the chance to play and returned to Scotland where he'd previously been training with Dundee since being released from prison.
Ronnie Moore told the Yorkshire Post: "No one in this country is going to take him on without looking at him. It was only a matter of waiting another 24 hours. I've only seen him in training and even I can look good in training!"
The player is set to sign for St Johnstone with Moore adding: "It was a guaranteed contract up there so he's really gone for the security."
