Robins confident of continued progression

The Millers got back to winning ways at the weekend with a 3-1 victory at Accrington.

Ahead of the Boxing Day clash against Port Vale
, speaking to the Star Robins said: "Concern? Yes I had some, because you are concerned when you see teams creeping closer and concern because you don't want a breakaway group ahead of you and there was a danger of that.

"That's why the win at Accrington was so important but I knew we were capable of doing that, of turning things round after the run we've had. The win was always coming.

"We've had a difficult run of games, playing all the top teams but I've got good players here who I believe in and I am confident we will start to move up the table."

Striker Mark Burchill netted his third and fourth goals for the club in the Accy game, and Robins added that he felt Burchill's time had come to start.

"I know what he is capable of doing. He came on last week against Darlington and looked lively, the way you want to see him play. He's knuckled down and I want him to continue in this form because that is the reason why we signed him.

"I decided to put him in with Richie Barker, feeling that it might be the ideal front pairing in terms of goalscoring."

Burchill himself said: "If you get your chance in the team then you know you've got to take it but that doesn't just apply to me. We have competition not only up front but all over, there are some good players here.

"We played some really good stuff at the start and if we play that way over the Christmas period then we can get among those just above us."
