The debate over the Cheques came to a head over the table today after a couple of press releases over the last few days.

Tonight the following statement has been published on both the Club official site and the RUST website.

Members of the RUST board met Rotherham United directors this afternoon to discuss the financial situation at the club.

The meeting was cordial and productive in pursuit of a singular aim of saving the club.

The directors of the club agreed with and were sympathetic to the RUST board's responsibility to their members over the need to seek a mandate for those members as to how best to use the money held in RUST's account to help the club.

The RUST board will be discussing the use of the money held in the RUST account at their special general meeting on Wednesday 15 March.

RUST board member Mark Thomas said: "We had a very positive meeting in which it was made clear that everyone concerned is fully committed to saving our club.

We would urge supporters to continue giving as much as possible either to RUFC or RUST."

David Veal
Club director David Veal said: "We are happy that everyone is pulling in the same direction to get us through this situation. We all need to remain focussed and positive in our efforts to save the club."

RUST urges fans to join RUST to have their say, Membership costs £10 with £5 of that going towards the Save The Millers campaign..

Speaking to Radio Sheffield just before tonights club AGM, Millers director David Veal spoke about the RUST meeting and said, "We've had a meeting with our colleagues at RUST and ironed out the misunderstanding we had last week and we are moving forward together with the fundraising."
