The figure would allow RUST a 25.1 shareholding under the new rights issue planned by the new Board. This money has to be raised by May 16th, and will allow for the building of the £3.5million new stand.
RUST have received in writing from the club that any money raised will be used for the new stand project.
RUST have outlined their fundraising plans to raise this money through a letter sent to all fans, and in fund raising pack which can be downloaded from their website. In addition, two meetings were held at the Carlton Park Hotel on Monday 18th April and Tuesday 19th April that were open to all supporters.
Fans have the option to invest over five different categories of investment levels. These are as follows:
• Standard – This covers an investment of £10-99 pounds. Fans investing will receive a commemorative certificate and up to 99 shares for RUST.
• Bronze – This covers an investment of £100. Fans investing this amount will receive their own named limited edition leisure shirt OR a brick (but not both!), a commemorative certificate, and 100 shares for RUST.
• Silver - This covers an investment of £250. Fans investing this amount will have their name permanently shown on a brick in the new main stand, receive their own named limited edition leisure shirt, a commemorative certificate, and 250 shares for RUST.
• Gold - This covers an investment of £500. Fans investing this amount will receive 2 tickets to the inaugural dinner, a letter of thanks signed by the team, their name permanently shown on a brick in the new main stand, receive their own named limited edition leisure shirt, a commemorative certificate, and 500 shares for RUST.

Although it is perceived as a tough task, the trust are happy with the early support that has been received, which highlights that the targets to be met are not unrealistic. From the two meetings that have been held this week, supporters have already pledged over £30,000.
Millers manager Mick Harford has pledged £1000 and highlighted the importance of the new stand to the Millers future. “It has been made clear how important raising this money is and how vital it is for the football club that we get this new stand up. I am sure the supporters will rally round and it will be to everyone's benefit for this share issue to be successful.” said Harford.

Other people who have also pledged include all the directors of the club, Millers players Paul Hurst and Will Hoskins, former player’s Trevor Womble and Trevor Swift, the Chuckle Brothers and Kevin Barren MP for Rother Valley, amongst others.
RUST Chairman Craig Saunderson was pleased with the initial response of the scheme, however the money has to be in pretty fast as there is a deadline of Noon on the 16th of May, when the Clubs rights issue closes.

Saunderson told the forums: "We are calling on every Rotherham United supporter to give us their support for this, whatever the amount they can afford, because this is an important part of the future of the club.
"The indications of support we have already received suggest our target is not unrealistic and we see this as an exciting opportunity because it gives RUST the chance to have the largest shareholding in the club which will help cement RUST's influence and also ensure that the fans' views will be properly represented and acted upon.
"It is all about everyone pulling together, going in the same direction and we have new people in charge at the club who are communicating with the fans more than ever."
