I think this would be a great way for the millers to earn some money - it will give businesses who can't really justify donating money to the millers a real reason - imagine how good an opportunity it would be to raise awareness for your business which will be seen by thousands of millers fans and one day be looked back upon as one of the businesses who helped save the club - also the bigger their message the more it is obvious they have donated. Also, it gives less well known businesses in the area a chance to raise awareness for themselves - everybody wins!
I have finally set this website up and it can be seen at www.saverotherhamunited.com It cost’s 5p per pixel with a minimum purchase of £5 – Now what our job is to do is promote, promote, promote – and then when we’ve done that promote it some more!
As fans we can email all big businesses telling them about the site and organisations like Radio Sheffield, Advertiser, that awful Yorkshire football program presented by Andy Townsend (I forget the name, we don’t get it in Leicester) etc, and get the club to spread the word online and in local newspapers. - I reckon it could get really big just like the original did.
Please, once you have read this do everything you can to promote the site, email or phone any big businesses, any local businesses, any media (national and regional) who could promote the site or advertise themselves (radio, newspapers, websites etc), beg your boss to advertise here and explain to them why it is such a good idea and such good value for money!
Here is a standardised email for you to send:

Dear [insert name],
As you may be aware Rotherham United Football Club has run into huge financial trouble and only has a short amount of time to find £1m before going into liquidation (not administration) and going out of existence forever. The club is 136 years old and serves a town of 250,000 people with thousands of loyal supporters – for it to go out of existence is unthinkable.
The response so far to raise money has been good. Local football teams have donated money, fans from around the country have donated over £5,000 online, an offer to produce and sell copies of a Millerman CD have been made, local schools are having sponsored walks and even billionaire Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic is helping by donating £20k.
I appreciate that it is difficult for a businesses or organisations such as yourselves to justify donating money to Rotherham United but now there is a new way for organisations such as yourself to donate and benefit significantly in return.
As you may be aware as it’s been in the news a lot recently, a student from Nottingham made $1m from the million dollar home page (http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com) where he sold advertising space on a website – the concept being the more you pay the bigger the advert.
SaveRotherhamUnited.com is a website which uses the same concept to allow businesses and organisation to help Rotherham United survive whilst benefiting enormously from the service yourselves.
There are thousands of Rotherham United and other football fans who want to see the club survive, for 5p per pixel you can buy advertising space from as little as (10x10) £5, the more you buy the more visible it will be.
Imagine the benefit to your organisation of being recognised around the country, especially within Rotherham, as helping save Rotherham United football club from extinction. The fans would be very grateful and may well go out of the way to use your products or services for a long time to come, football is a very powerful thing!
This service can benefit any business or organisation whilst helping Rotherham United – imagine the awareness that a relatively small, unheard of local business could generate without having to spend much money at all, and the loyalty that larger business could gain from football fans seeing names of businesses who are not just advertising, but saving a football club!
I ask that you visit the website www.saverotherhamunited.com and please consider donating to the Millers’ cause and earning the appreciation of the supporters.
If you are in a position to promote the site, that would be brilliant – please do everything you can to help our cause.
Thanks,

I think the price of 5p per pixel with a minimum of 10x10 purchased at a time for £5 is a very reasonable and realistic price in my opinion and if sold out would earn £50,000.
Please do everything you can – the success all depends on how much interest can be generated, to get it in the national tabloids or national radio for example would be amazing!
Thanks,
John Hardy
