“It’s something I believe in, letting the players be at home on Christmas Day because it’s a family day,” said Scott to the Star.
“We are in today and tomorrow and I can trust the players to look after themselves on Christmas Day. They’ll appreciate the time with their families and then be ready for the Macclesfield game.
“I think this is an important little three game spell for us because we have two tricky away games and then are at home to Bradford City before we have a mini-break as we haven’t a game on January 7. We want to pick up some points and keep ourselves in a challenging position.”
Scott is believed to be close to sealing an extension to Jon Harley's loan deal from Notts County. He also has to assess his other loanees who are due back with their parent clubs after the Bradford game.
Conrad Logan, Guy Branston and Sam Wood's deals are all up on January 4th, and Brett Williams' last game is scheduled for Cheltenham next Friday.
Meanwhile Gareth Evans and Ryan Cresswell are making decent progress with their injuries and could be back in the next two to three weeks.
