Of course the all ticket game at DVS is only billed a pre-season friendly but there were plenty of meaty tackles flying in at Blundell Park on Saturday for the Millers first warm up of the summer, a 3-1 win at Grimsby.
Goals from Ryan Cresswell and new boys Lewis Grabban and Chris Holroyd saw the Millers win comfortably but Scott says he'd planned for tonight to be the first major test with his preparations.
“My plan for the whole of pre-season was done right at the end of last season so that everything was planned, it wasn’t just happening to fall into place,” said Scott to the Star.
“I was looking for a game like this one second up. It’s right that it should be a step up and it is.”
Scott has everyone available apart from youngster Ollie Banks. Midfielder Jason Taylor is okay after three stitches in a cut eye.
“We got everyone some time on the pitch. We played some good stuff but there were a few areas I wasn’t happy about,” he added after Saturdays victory.
