Scott's men are still in with a play-off shout with half the season still to go but the boss says he hasn't got enough players with the mental attitude to grind a game out.
"We're still four points outside the play-offs, which is amazing, and we've still got a chance because if it clicks mentally there's no stopping us.. But the question that has to be asked at some point is when is it going to click?", he told the press.
"We see the quality of the players we have got but it's no point showing it in glimpses. Good players at higher levels succeed and win promotions because they are consistent.
"I'm looking for players now with a strong mentality, to get over that line that know how to win football matches. We don't have enough of that at the moment.
"I think there has been a hangover here the past few years that 7th or 8th is good enough. I don't want to finish 8th, or 7th, I want to finish top."
