The squad will visit the gaffers homeland for three games in July. They will face Morton (9th July), Livingston (10th) and finish off at Ayr United on the 13th.
Speaking to the Advertiser, Steve Evans explained why; “We have chosen the Scottish route rather then the Portuguese route this time because I feel we need more physical opposition and we'll certainly get that north of the border. There will also be that England Scottish edge to the games too.
“The tour will give me the chance to look at everyone before the friendlies start back here. I think the Scottish games will give us the physical challenges we need and then from more of a footballing aspect we've got some quality opponents lined up at home.” he added.
The tour adds to the games already confirmed back at the NYS, where we host Huddersfield (July 20th), Middlesbrough (23rd) and Barnsley (27th).
The club are also set to confirm a match with Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday 16th July.
