He said to todays Tiser: "There's a determination among the players to make sure we stay in touch and start picking teams off.
"There's some big games coming up over the new year. If we can go and get a positive result against Cheltenham and another one against Bradford then that will put us in a really good position to get ready for Swindon on January 14.
"It's a busy time for us and we need to balance work and rest but we're ready for it. Cheltenham is a good challenge and we seem to respond against the sides at the top. We've haven't picked up as many points as we'd like from those games but we seem to play better.
"During the last 12 or 15 games we have been getting there. We know we have to improve in certain areas but we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
"Clean sheets are what good sides are built on and we know we've got quality going forward."
