Scott takes his troops to Lancashire tonight looking to end a winless run that stretches back to September 10th and will come up against former defender Nick Fenton.
Scott touched on the decision to release Fenners, who made over 130 appearances for the Millers.
“I looked at him, as I did everyone else, in the final weeks of last season and decided I didn’t want to keep him on,” said Scott to the Star.
“Morecambe had a fantastic result at Port Vale and so their confidence will be sky-high. They’ve had a good start which may have surprised some people but I’m not surprised at who is near the top or who might be near the bottom because this division is so tight.
“If we keep on playing well, the results will come. We have some excellent players here who have a lot of ability.”
Scott will assess the fitness of Michael Raynes and Johnny Mullins ahead of tonights game with both suffering from weekend knocks.
