Scott touched on his old side Brentford's defeat at the hands of Barrow in an interview yesterday, and today he spoke about the dangers the home side will pose to his Millers team at Holker Street.
A weakened Rotherham back line hit by injury, unavailability of loanees and an International call up will try to stop the Bluebirds record of netting in every game so far this season.
Scott is under no illusions how difficult the tie will be, drawing on previous experiences and the narrowing gap in the standard of play between League Two and the Blue Square Premier.
He told the clubs official website; "It is a tough place to go, I know first hand how tough it is and so does Patto.
"It is a tight ground, the crowd are very enthusiastic and they get behind them. It is the FA Cup, a non-league team against a league side, they will fancy their chances so we have got to go there mentally prepared and know that we have got to be at our best to beat them, because ultimately they are going to raise their game.
"They are doing well in the Conference, they are a decent side. The gap between the Conference and the league sides has narrowed considerably. Crawley and Stevenage have showed that, so there is no reason for us to go there and think that it is an easy game because it is going to be anything but that."
Scott is looking to take recent league form into the clash, with the Millers undefeated in the last four and proving a tougher nut to crack, a run which has included a much more solid performance at the back in the 2-0 win over Aldershot last weekend.
But he was quick to warm of the potential dangers, mainly 16 goal striker Adam Boyes.
"Adam Boyes scored four goals in the last round to get them through after going 1-0 down. They are very attack minded, they get the ball to their wide players and attack very well. They have plenty of experience,
players that understand how to play the game, they are a good
team.
"With Darren Sheridan and Dave Bayliss in charge you know that they will be competitive, we have got to match them and beat them in those departments before we start playing ourselves", added Scott.
