Speaking to www.themillers.co.uk, Ian said: "We didn't do well enough over the Christmas period, we did have injury problems but that's no excuse hopefully over the next few games we can put that right and get some wins.
"We have a new signing coming down to Millmoor in Toumani Diagouaga who is coming to us from Watford, I haven't had a chance to meet him yet but Alan Knill must think he's a good player."
The centre back also passed comment about the outgoing Millers players, adding: "I would like to wish Will Hoskins and Lee Williamson all the best; they have done a great job for the club and deserve to play in the Premiership so good luck to them both."
