Shaw joined on a free from Sheffield United last season and his second spell at the club helped the side avoid a second successive relegation.
The Millers are still waiting on contract decisions from Shaun Barker, Paul Hurst, Paul McLaren and also John Mullin - who may well follow Shaw out of the door.
The club remain hopefull that all remaining contractual decisions can be sorted before the end of the week.
