Shrimpers stall Millers – But why?

Which begs the question, why are they stalling on us?

This is the fourth time this has happened, and there are a few conspiracy theories flying about. Firstly, by cancelling and getting the hearing adjourned until April 7th, maybe Southend were hoping that the Millers would cease to exist by then as the cut off point should have been this Saturday coming, but we all know that's not gunna happen now thanks to Mr. Coleman and Mr. Maccio.

Secondly, and in my own opinion, Southend maybe thought they weren't really getting value for money by paying us £117,000 for Jamal, who flattered to deceive in his eight months at the club, and who was asking for wages Southend couldn't afford.

Maybe delaying may have led Rotherham to say “we'll have him back” and cancel the deal, saving them a lot of money and aggro.

Ron Martin - Ill?
My final thought on the matter is that maybe Southend, knowing they have a real chance of going up and earning some good cash, could have been delaying so that they could pay us after the end of the season, when they have promotion wrapped up and can afford to pay transfer fees and higher wages.

So in the end the Millers have been messed about, nobody has been ill/had too much information to look at/had travel problems or any other excuse you wish to add.

The Millers could have gone out of business this week which thankfully and hopefully isn't going to happen now, but I wonder how many would have been banging on Ron Martin's door if the Millers had gone bust.
