Stanley working round the clock

Last updated : 13 January 2010 By Deano

Their FA Cup game with Gillingham had no chance of going ahead after almost a foot of snow on the playing surface, but by last night they had appealed to locals to come down and help clear the rest of the snow.

A JCB has assisted the groundstaff at the Crown Ground to get to the grass to carry out work on the actual surface.

Fans were also asked to assist stadium safety officer Mick Schultz where possible under the floodlights in the evening as Stanley vow to do their best to get a game on for Saturday.

We'll keep you updated.
