Stephen's stopping

Brogan, 18, who has played at both left-back and midfield since breaking into the first eleven, has shown up pretty well as the team around him struggled and the two-year deal is a reward for those performances as well as a sign of Mark Robins' commitment to youth.

Talking to the official site, Brogan, who is that rare thing, a player and a supporter, expressed his delight at signing the terms and looked forward to brighter things at Millmoor. "I am a Rotherham lad through and through and [although] it has been a difficult end to the season ... hopefully we can start winning again next season", he said, setting his sights on "bouncing straight back to League One".

As to his best position, after initially aiming for a midfield berth, Brogan now thinks he's "probably happier at left back". The versatility to play in either role will be very useful, whichever slot he ends up filling long-term.

As this site sponsors his kit, it almost goes without saying that we wish him well for the next two years. It's also good to see that, although he only has one "highlight" on his Millersworld profile, it's "Tranmere 3, Rotherham 2 - Fight" ... exactly what we need.
