Having just won promotion to League 1, Tony Stewart tells the Star that his aim is still the same, and that's Championship football for the Millers.
“I said when I took over, the Championship was the eventual aim and that’s our next target, last weekend was a stepping stone along the way, We want to keep improving at this football club and we set targets but if you get to the Championship, it doesn’t stop there, you still have targets." he said.
“Promotion this season was the aim and you only have to look at how the fans, the town, has swung behind the club. Businesses in the town centre are revelling in their extra revenue. We are going to increase our gates again and we have a momentum that has taken us into League One and that momentum will continue and lots of factors can help take us forward.
“We want more success and we are heading upwards and we shall strive for the best we can get,” he promised.
“It is not just about Tony Stewart and Steve Evans it is about everyone at the football club, all the staff. I demand things and drive the manager hard and he drives himself hard and he likes success. And if we can have another day like that on Saturday then it’s worth working for.”
