The 21 year-old played 49 times on loan at Crewe last season but has yet to make a first team appearance for his Premiership club Chelsea.
And with opportunities very limited at Stamford Bridge, the keeper told Radio Sheffield he's ready to move on with his career.
"I'm fed up of just sitting and taking the money now, I want to move forward with my career and play games and If something long term came up here who knows," said Taylor.
"I just want to do well for Rotherham and help the lads at the moment."
Taylor is on an initial months loan that is likely to be extended if the deal suits all parties at the end of January.
