Speaking to the clubs official website, Tony looked back on Tuesday nights game, the recent poor form and the acoustic problems at Don Valley.

"I would like to put on record my sincere thanks for the vocal support that was shown for the team at last night's match. As a Club, Ronnie and the players included, we are honest enough to accept that it has been frustrating of late. Last night I felt that together we all pulled rank and stood firm, and I believe that a positive message was transferred onto the pitch".

"Whilst it is appreciated that Don Valley isn't always the perfect arena for us to play our football in, please be mindful that it was always going to be a temporary measure and the work on our new home is gathering pace day after day. For the short time before we move into the new stadium it is important for us all to stick together and get behind the team as we did last night, and believe me, it does make a difference."

The Chairman added: "The acoustics at Don Valley does make it that little bit more difficult to generate the type of atmosphere we'd ideally enjoy at every home game but it is by no means impossible, we have proved that at matches already this season and, for me, last night in particular proved that you don't have to have a bumper crowd to generate a good atmosphere. I am told that on the pitch you can hear pretty much everything and so when we - and I include myself within this - vent our frustration, this transfers onto the pitch but when we collectively show our encouragement this does too and I honestly think last night proved that."

"We are currently sitting tight in 4th position within the league table with a couple of games in hand on most Clubs around us, and having some key games on the horizon, we are ready for the battle ahead. We have a very bright, exciting future and we are working hard to bring that for us all, sooner rather than later."
