The left back turned down a new contract offer from Morecambe and also had other potential offers on the table from League One clubsm but chose to pen a deal with Steve Evans men.
And he explained to the Star that he thrives on the expectations next season.
“Once a formal offer was made it took about two minutes to say yes. The club is on the up after a few years where it has been on the slide. But with a new manager, a new stadium and training ground it’s set up to go one way," Wilson said.
“I suppose there’ll be expectations on us at the start of the season. We’ll be one of the favourites if not the favourite to go up. I like that and I want that expectation.
“From what I know of Steve Evans and from playing against his teams I know he’s a winner.”
