With the Millers returning home, and bringing in some quality signings, boss Steve Evans tells the 'Tiser that there's no room for passengers if the Millers are to live upto the favorites tag placed on them by the bookies.
“Our players have to thrive on the pressure of playing at the New York Stadium in front of crowds of more than 8,000 people, which is what they’ll be if we are winning, and more than 1,000 at away games if we are doing well."
“They have to make sure they give me 100 per cent in every game and if they don't then they will be thrown out of the door. “I have been out and about into schools and hospitals and seen at first hand the passion for this football club. It's unbelievable and we need to live and breathe it too."
“From a personal point of view, people might question some of my tactics and decisions but never my passion.”
Steve went on to take about the bookies odds which place the Millers at just 7/2 to win the League 2 title; “At this stage last year my previous club, Crawley, were oddson favourites to win the league but things can and do change over the course of a season. I look at Fleetwood, Bristol Rovers, Northampton, Bradford and Plymouth and see how strong they could be. It's going to be a hard league but someone has to start as favourites so let it be us.”
