Wood joined up with his former boss after Gareth Evans was ruled out with injury and he's hoping for a good loan spell.
"I hadn't played a first team game for over a month so it was nice to get back into it and I just tried to do what I normally do. I felt a bit rusty but a full week's training will help"
“Saturday was always going to be tough. We just didn't take our chances whereas they had two and scored two and that's why they're up there. The wind didn't help and it seemed to get a long stronger in the second half when we were against it. They managed to get the two goals but other than that we were on top.”
“It takes time to gel with a new team. The lads here have been playing together for a while now whereas I played a different style at Brentford but I've played under Andy before so I can hopefully adapt."
Sam went on to speak about his situation at Brentford since Scott departed; “I've not had a look-in at Brentford. I've been in and around the team, started a couple of games, but Uwe Rosler is really into squad rotation. There are a few wingers there now and that's just football. I've worked hard and kept my head and Scotty has given me the chance to play games and that's all I want to do."
“We're good enough to get in the play-offs, there's no question about it. There's the quality here to do it.”
Meanwhile boss Andy Scott also predicted that Wood will do well for the Millers; “In the last five minutes on Saturday he was starting to tire but he showed he's got good quality and he got forward and on another day he might have had a couple of goals. He'll get better for the games."
"He doesn't give up on anything. He loves playing and having come out of non-league three-and-a-half years ago, he is grateful of the chance to play professional football. Rotherham fans will take him to their hearts. He's fitted into the group very well and into the way we play.” he added.
