With 6 games left to go in the season, the Gaffer tells the Tiser that things may not go our way at times and asks the fans to stay behind the players.
“The supporters are going to be absolutely vital for us and we can't have people turning on the players. The supporters of Cheltenham and Exeter don't get on the backs of their team. When things aren't going well, they go quiet."
" Even though they've had to watch some poor performances at home, our supporters have been superb. They showed patience when we played Wimbledon last week and we're going to need them 100 per cent with us again. We want them to channel their passion positively at this important time.”
Evans looked to tomorrows game and looks to bring the 3 points home; “Morecambe have struggled for wins lately but they have taken points off Gillingham, Cheltenham, Northampton, Burton and Exeter. They can produce performances against the top teams. We need to be strong, get the win and set ourselves up for another big game against Exeter but there are other big ones all around us. Port Vale play Burton tonight and even Bradford are still in with a shout of the play-offs and they play Northampton this weekend."
“Three weeks ago, every manager in the top seven thought 80 points would be needed for automatic promotion. Now people are saying it might be a bit less than that.” he added
