Talking to todays Tiser, Moore confirmed his interest in Plymouth and New Zealand International; forward Rory Fallon.
"We've had a sniff but he wants to sit tight and see what develops. I think he is waiting to see whether Swansea come in and that's a shame because I think he would have given us what we want.
"Fallon has started three games for Plymouth but I think he's ready for a change. We'll be keeping an eye on the situation."
Of his son, Rotherham chief Moore said: "Tranmere value him at £100,000 but that's ridiculous for a 33-year-old. We would probably pay that for a 23-year-old but not someone of his age.
"We have offered an amount which we think is realistic. "Ian wants to play and the speculation that Tranmere have offered him a new contract is absolute rubbish."
