Speaking on MillersWorld, the pair said, "What would happen if there were no Millers? The town would lose out. We were born half a mile from the ground and we would be lost without it."
The pair a big Millers and even filmed an episode of their kids tv show at Millmoor.
He also encouraged the wider football community to do the same, "When I heard about Rotherham United's situation I immediately felt that I wanted to do something to help. I suggested that every Premiership player who earns more than £100,000 a year should be encouraged to donate £500 to the Millers. I've started the ball rolling by donating my £500 and I shall show my cheque on the programme on Saturday and encourage others to do the same. He told the clubs official website.
"Footballers in the Premiership enjoy the high life and it would be a great gesture from them if they could follow my lead and support the players, management, staff and fans of a lower league club, like Rotherham United." He added.
Speaking to the clubs official website his mother Pam said, "When I heard about Rotherham United's current plight I was straight on the phone to the club to see what David and I could do to help."
"The club means a lot to our family and we are all supporting the Save the Millers appeal. David used to play for Rotherham boys and his niece, Charlie, currently plays for the Junior Millers. David's grandad Percy has supported the Millers all his life and used to watch the team both home and away and I used to go down to Millmoor in my youth! "
David has donated his Arsenal Keepers shirt for auction on EBAY with funds going to the SOM fund.
