"Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely ground, I played there for Accrington in the first month last season and we'd no complaints at all. But by the time gets to after Christmas it can be really, really worn, and not at all nice to play on. "It will be good to get to their pitch early doors while the turf is still half-decent before the rugby starts."
Todd then spoke of his decision to leave Accrington Stanley after just picking up their player of the season awards, "It was a wrench to leave but sometimes you have to think about what's right for yourself. There was an opportunity here and I just wanted to be part of it."
"With Rotherham just being relegated from League One, they are classed as a bigger club. Coming to a club that should be at least in League One, if not challenging for the Championship, was an attraction. Location was a factor also because I was doing a lot of travel-ling over to Lancashire from my home in the East Midlands. Rotherham is a bit closer." he added
"Accrington were sad to see me go. I still keep in contact with a few of the players there and I'm looking forward to our matches against them. I hope they have a good season."
"It's nice to have League Two experience and maybe that's one of the reasons Mark Robins wanted to bring me in. He knows what I can bring and maybe that can help some of the others here who have been playing at a higher level."
"It's a lovely set-up here. There's some good lads and we're really starting to gel now. The gaffer and coaching staff are doing really good things in training to get us prepared. We've done well so far and it was nice to have the television cameras in for the cup match against Sheffield Wednesday cup match last week, but the league is our bread and butter."
