Trust announces double Meetings.

Since then RUST has made 2 statements, the first saying that RUST will continue to fundraise and accept any donations made to them.

RUST then also today released the following statement:

“The RUST Board believes that the club were fundamentally wrong to request that all cheques in support of the Save The Millers campaign to be made out to Rotherham United.

The RUST Board invites the club to pay all donations into the RUST account and to return to the position of all cheques being made payable to RUST.
RUST has arranged a Fans Forum for ALL FANS on Wednesday 8th March 2006 at 7:30pm at Magna, for a debate on the future of Rotherham United Football Club.

This will be followed a week later on Wednesday 15th March 2006 by a Special General Meeting open to RUST members only for the purpose of discussing:
1. The use of funds held by RUST.
2. Continued fundraising by RUST.
3. The future of Rotherham United Football Club.

RUST urges all fans to join RUST at Magna on 8th March 2006.”

This is new territory from RUST who have previously been seen to back the board.

This afternoon Club Chairman Peter Ruchniewicz responded to RUST's earlier statement with a statement of its own on the official club website, it said.

"Quite frankly all that matters now is getting as many people as possible to back the club and save it from going out of business,"

"The statement issued today by RUST has astonished us especially as we have been in dialogue with their officers, offered to attend a RUST board meeting and have invited them to our board meeting on Thursday to discuss the arrangements for funds raised for the Save The Millers Campaign.”

"We will further address the matter of payment arrangements of the proceeds from fundraising when we meet with the RUST representatives at this week's board meeting.”

"In the meantime I would like to again thank all the people who are backing us - their efforts have made a difference and are encouraging others to help us," Ruchniewicz added.

The message from both statements are to keep on fundraising by anymeans, however its expected that many fans will be attending the next 2 meetings at Magna in an attempt to find out more details of whats happening and what the position of the club is.

It's also looking increasing likely that RUST will be asking some questions from its members in the second meeting with it being members only, so to get entry to the meeting and a vote you must be a RUST member.

Both the Trust and the club have the same interests at heart and are working together to try an keep this club alive, a lot of people seem to be slagging off one, the other or even both parties, a lot of this is undeserved at the moment in time as the club, the trust and the fans have the same goal, keeping RUFC alive. So for the time being lets stop looking for a scapegoat and carry on trying to save OUR club.

So who do you make cheques payable to??? At the minute, you decide!
