However, the step closer to the record ended in disappointment after another shocker of a second half, after the Millers looked good to pick up all the points at half time.
Speaking to todays Rotherham Star, Hursty said; "We got ourselves into a good position against Macclesfield. We had a good first half but it was very disappointing the way we played in the second half. I don't know why but we never really got going and we were under the cosh for most of the second half. I think that sums up our season so far."
"On Saturday against Barnet we were on top and never turned our possession into goals and then conceded goals. Last night we got ourselves in front but needed a second goal when we were on top." he added.
"Stephen Brogan hits the post from a freekick and then I drill a cross in and the defender's clearance could have gone anywhere. If that had gone in, who knows?"
"But in the second half we were like a different team and didn't really create too many chances and were on the back foot. From my point of view it was two points dropped."
