Just before the start of the second half, one halfwit decided to take the banter the Tivoli End have with the opposing teams goalkeeper to another unsavory level and directed racist abuse at him.

Gill's keeper Kelvin Jack promptly had words with the match referee who in turn reported the incident to the 4th official.

Midway through the second half 2 uniformed policemen escorted a pleb from his seat at the front of the Tivoli End.

Speaking to the Rotherham Star today, the clubs cheif operating officer Paul Douglas confirmed the club had taken swift and severe action against the individual.

"We have imposed a lifetime ban on him and we have informed all other clubs in this area of his name, We condemn this sort of behaviour and will not tolerate it, in fact our stewards operate a zero tolerance on this matter." he said

"It is immensely disappointing that there should be anything like this and I am sure all our supporters will condone our actions. I represent Rotherham as one of six clubs on the diversity advocacy group at the Football League which is working towards increasing the diversity of those involved in football at all levels," added Douglas.

"We are totally committed at this club to ending racial abuse and will continue to work towards helping eliminate it."

With the matter being brought to the attentions of the referee the incident will be included in his match report and the FA will study the referee's report and will also seek confirmation from Jack.

But the club's fast and proper action will recieve backing from the FA and hopefully no action will be taken against the club.

One question to the club and stewards though is, there is normally a steward sat less than 3 meters from where this pleb was sat, was anything done by said steward?

UPDATE - Turns out said 'fan' is not a Miller but actually a Huddersfield Town fan, but one of the friends of the infamous 'RYS', who continually embaress themselves and the club wherever they go.....
