Speaking to Radio Sheffield, assistant boss Richie Barker admits there's been talk of Ward moving, and its just a matter of time before he leaves the club.
"There have been a couple of conversations in terms of opportunities for him to go and play at the next level, It's pretty much now down to ourselves as a football club and him agreeing where the right place is for both of us. Where Danny might want to go might not be right for Rotherham United and vice versa. So we need to make sure it's the right deal for everybody. And, if it doesn't happen then we get one of the best strikers in League One. So as a group of staff we can't lose either way."
"Whatever comes in is hopefully going to be recycled back out in terms of being used as part of the budget or transfer fees and if not that then to strengthen the club behind the scenes in other ways. Every football club in this country is a selling club and you have to accept that someone is going to come in for your players and if that's the case then you get the best deal you can and recycle the money in the best way you can." BVarker added.
