Doige had an impressive season as Forest Green gained promotion into the Football league, socreing 21 goals in 41 appearances.
Warne spoke to the Advertiser about the clubs efforts to land him; "We put in a really good offer for him. They turned it down but if they come back and say we are close, or miles away, then we will see."
"The problem is he scored at Wembley in the play-off final which got them promoted, so they are in no rush to sell him. He still has two years left on his contract and because he had a really good season I imagine there are a lot of clubs in for him."
"He scored a shed-load of goals in a tough, physical league so potentially he could step up a couple of leagues and perform for us. So he is still on my list of potentials to get in but, at the moment, there has been no development." Warne added.
